About Vudoku Puzzles
Vudoku is a fun variation of the classic Sudoku puzzle that adds a bit of math. It keeps the usual grid and number-placement rules like the standard sudoku, but includes a new feature: "V" shapes.
How to Play
- Grid Size: The puzzle has 9x9 grid size made up of three 3x3 sub-grids.
- Numbers: Each row, column, and 3x3 box must contain the digits 1 through 9.
- No Repeats: Numbers in each row, columns and diagonals should appear only once without repetition.
- V Shape: For each "V" shape marked on the grid, the number at the vertex must be either the sum or the difference of the two numbers at the ends of the "V". e.g. If a number at the vertex of 'V" is 8, then the possible combination of the numbers at the edge is (1,9), (2,6), (3,5), etc.
Solving Tips and Techniques:
Solving Vudoku requires a combination of traditional Sudoku techniques and strategies specific to the "V" shapes.
- Start with the Basics: Begin by applying standard Sudoku techniques to fill in as many cells as possible.
- Focus on the "V" Shapes: Examine the "V" shapes and consider the possible combinations of numbers that could satisfy the sum or difference rule.
- Elimination: Use the standard Sudoku rules to eliminate impossible combinations.
- Combination Logic: Combine the Vudoku rule with standard Sudoku techniques to deduce the values of cells. For example, if a "V" shape overlaps with a row or column, you can use the Vudoku rule to limit the possibilities for certain cells.
