What is Anti-Knight Sudoku?
Anti-Knight Sudoku is a variation of the standard 9×9 Sudoku puzzle where all normal Sudoku rules apply, but with an additional constraint based on the chess knight’s move. This means that no two identical numbers can be placed a knight’s move apart (an L-shape: two squares in one direction and one square perpendicular).
Anti-Knight Sudoku introduces a chess-inspired constraint that significantly changes how numbers can be placed, creating a deeper and more strategic solving experience.
Basic Rules of Anti-Knight Sudoku
To solve an Anti-Knight Sudoku puzzle, follow these rules:
- Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
- Each row must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each column must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each 3×3 box must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- No two identical numbers may be placed a knight’s move apart in chess.
- A knight’s move means two squares in one direction and one square perpendicular (L-shape). In other words, all cells at a chess knight move (at a distance of 2 by 1) must hold different numbers.
