What is Sudoku-DG (Offset Sudoku)?
Sudoku-DG (Offset Sudoku) is a variation of the standard 9×9 Sudoku puzzle where the grid follows all traditional Sudoku rules but with an additional offset or shifted constraint pattern applied to certain regions or symbol groupings (depending on the puzzle design).
This offset structure changes how standard solving strategies apply, requiring solvers to think beyond normal row, column, and box interactions, making it ideal for puzzle lovers looking for something different.
Basic Rules of Sudoku-DG (Offset Sudoku)
To solve a Sudoku-DG puzzle, follow these rules:
- Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
- Each row must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each column must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each 3×3 box must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Follow the offset (DG shift) constraint pattern, where certain grouped cells or regions interact with shifted alignment rules depending on the puzzle layout.
- No number may repeat within any valid constraint group defined by the offset structure.
