What is Asterisk Sudoku?
Asterisk Sudoku is a popular variation of the classic 9×9 Sudoku puzzle. It follows all the standard Sudoku rules: each row, column, and 3×3 box must contain the numbers 1 through 9 exactly once.
In addition, the nine cells that form the asterisk-shaped pattern in the grid must also contain the digits 1 through 9 exactly once without repetition. This extra constraint adds another layer of logic, making the puzzle more challenging than standard Sudoku.
Basic Rules / How to Play
To solve an Asterisk Sudoku puzzle, follow these rules:
- Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
- Each row must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each column must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each 3×3 box must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- The nine cells forming the asterisk pattern must also contain each digit from 1 to 9 exactly once.
