What is Anti-King Sudoku?
Anti-King Sudoku is a variation of the standard 9×9 Sudoku puzzle where the usual Sudoku rules apply, but with an additional constraint: no two identical numbers can be placed on squares that are a king’s move apart in chess (one square in any direction, including diagonally). This means the same number cannot appear in any adjacent cell.
Anti-King Sudoku adds a unique constraint that changes how numbers can be placed on the grid, creating a more strategic and engaging solving experience. It is perfect for Sudoku fans who want to explore more advanced variations.
Basic Rules of Anti-King Sudoku
To solve an Anti-King Sudoku puzzle, follow these rules:
- Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9.
- Each row must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each column must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- Each 3×3 box must contain every number from 1 to 9 exactly once.
- No two identical numbers may be placed in adjacent cells (king’s move apart), including diagonally adjacent cells.
- Numbers must not repeat in any position reachable by a single king move in chess.
