Basic Rules / How to Play
The general rules remain the same as number-based Sudoku, with the only difference being the use of letters instead of numbers.
- Grid Size: The puzzle has typically 9x9 grid size made up of three 3x3 sub-grids. The other variation can be of 4x4, 6x6, 10x10, 16x16 etc.
- Rows: Each row must contain all unique letters (no repetitions).
- Columns: Each column must contain all unique letters.
- Box: Each 3×3 subgrid (or region) must also contain all unique letters.
- Word-Based Sudoku (Special Case): Sometimes, the puzzle uses a specific 9-letter word, and every row, column, and subgrid must contain all the letters of that word exactly once.
