About Flower Sudoku

Flower Sudoku is a fun version of the classic Sudoku game. Instead of one big 9x9 grid, it has five smaller grids that overlap, arranged in the shape of a flower. The goal is the same like classic Sudoku, i.e. fill each grid with the numbers 1 to 9 without repeating any number in a row, column, or 3x3 box in each grid.

Rules / How to Play

  • Number Placement: Each grid must be filled with the numbers 1 through 9.
  • No Repetition: Numbers must not repeat within any row, column, or 3x3 sub-grid of each 9x9 grid.
  • Flower Layout: The puzzle has five small 3x3 grids arranged like a flower with one grid in the center and four other grids around it, touching the center grid at the corners.
  • Overlap Rules: The areas where the central and surrounding grids overlap have some cells in common. These shared cells must follow the Sudoku rules for both grids at the same time.

Solving Tips and Techniques:

In Flower Sudoku, the usual Sudoku rules still apply, but the overlapping grids make it more challenging. Here are some simple tips to help you solve these puzzles.

  • Start with the Central Grid: The central grid is connected to all four outer grids, so it's a good place to start. Solve this grid first, as it will give you helpful hints for solving the others.
  • Focus on Overlapping Areas: Look closely at where the grids overlap. These spots connect the grids and hold important clues. By studying the overlapping sections, you can figure out more details and rule out other options.
  • Work Grid by Grid: Finish as much as possible in one grid before moving to the next. Use the shared spaces between grids to guide you as you switch to a new one.
  • Look for Patterns: Look for patterns and shapes in the puzzle. They can help you figure out logical steps and possible solutions.
